Zooming-in on the sources of fast radio transients (PhD defense Kenzie Nimmo, UvA)
On Friday, September 16, Kenzie Nimmo will defend her PhD thesis titled "Zooming-in on the sources of fast radio transients. She will do so at the University of Amsterdam under the supervision of Jason Hessels (UvA and ASTRON) and Benito Marcote (JIVE) and Zsolt Paragi (JIVE).
Nimmo and colleagues made the news several times in recent years. Among other things, they investigated a repeating fast radio burst and found that it flashed more or less regularly. They also found a nearby burst in neighboring galaxy M81.
